Juggling Study Guide
Basic pattern is the cascade
The opposite is the reverse cascade
You imagine a Box just above you head and try to throw to the corner of this box, it should be just slightly above your head
The most difficult #’s to release out of your hands when starting are #3 and #4
Sometimes it is easier to drop the first and second ball and then catch the 3rd ball. Then working backwards to catch all three. From there you can start towards working on the cascade pattern.
Some of the tricks in class I taught you were
- yo-yo
- columns or elevator
- behind back
- one continuous over the top
- every 2nd one over the top
- one ball high
Try and have your hands move from out to in and slightly across you body when tossing and catching. Catch the ball on the outside of your body position and not in the middle.
Ways to start you juggling routine …
- Toss in
- under the chin
- behind the back
- off the foot
Things that juggling can help with in a personas life …
- self esteem
- self confidence
- focus
- being ambidextrous
- hand eye coordination
When you juggle, use an open palm so it doesn't create spin.
Keep the ball height just above you forehead for control…if it's too high it will be hard to catch. When you put them too low you will need to have fast and controlled hands.
